I noticed today that files imported by Watchtower into Premiere Pro cannot be transcribed in the 'Text' panel. Premiere returns a message that the files originated in a different source project and need to be transcribed in that original project. No such original Premiere exists of course - the files are coming straight and untouched from a media drive. Perhaps missing or altered metadata associated with the imported files might make Premiere THINK the files are not native to the my current project. That's one working theory. Regardless though, the result is a disabled Premiere Pro transcription function. I love Watchtower, I low transcription. It would very useful to have both. Thank you for any thoughts or input.
(If I manually import the same files into the same Premiere project, 'Transcribe' works perfectly.)
Actual Behavior
Premiere will not transcribe files imported by Watchtower.
Possible Fix
See above.
Steps to Reproduce
See above. You should be able to reproduce this behavior in Premiere's 'Text' panel using any file imported by Watchtower.
Context
Depending on your workflow, not having 'Transcribe' is a fairly big deal. It's a core function when working with scripts or interviews, in particular longer scripts and interviews.
