Add "Timecode" command to User command. There should be a setting to move playhead or selected clips.

Hi Sir_Ivan,
I'm new to Excalibur so maybe this feature is available already? It would be very useful for presets.

For example, I often need to fade in/out lower thirds over a set time. I would love to add a user command like that:

  • Set Opacity keyframe to 0
  • Move playhead forward x seconds/frame
  • Set Opacity keyframe to 100

I found I could do this using the "Step forward/back many" keyboard shortcut but I also need this setting to be set at a certain number. It would be much simpler if I could tell Excalibur to move my playhead in a user command.

Thanks !

Also another thought, it would be great if one of the options of this command was to move playhead to start/end of clip or to start/end of timeline

Merged 3 posts from Move playhead in user commands.

@PAL yes, this is something I want to implement, probably next update will get it.

Interesting suggestion. What use case do you think of? I guess fade out from playhead to clip end.
Do you have any other thoughts where you think it would be useful?
I ask this because if it is only related to control of Opacity (or audio volume), maybe I just should make a separate command for that.

Well in general I often run into a case where I have to place a keyframe at the end of a clip, so that could be useful to set up user commands. I could also imagine a case where one would want to paste a clip at the end of another clip ? I just got Excalibur today so if I run into other cases over time I'll update you here !

PAL oh, paste clip at the end of another one is a good example!

PAL Thank you, it is a pleasure to hear your words.
