I've tried to create my own user command:
1 -adds a volume key frame at 0 decibels
2 - skips fw 15 frames
3- adds volume keyframe at -20 decibels
4- skips fw 15 frames
5- adds volume keyframe at -20 decibels
6 - skips fw 15 frames
7 - adds final audio keyframe at 0 decibels

The idea is to create a dip in volume as can be seen here (https://youtu.be/C2KAhbt9KKs?t=1143)

Unfortunately, the skip forward many times shortcut is not working. On my machine it's set to the default [SHIFT+Right]. I can see it creates the first keyframe, then creates a second keyframe in the same place at -20, then finally creates a keyframe again in the same place at 0. So it runs through the commands except the "skip frames" command.

If I press the actual keyboard shortcut [SHIFT+Right] it does work on its own. But as a part of the "Add user command" it does not work.

I'm attaching a photo of the command list. If you use this command list, I believe it will reproduce the issue. If I'm doing it wrong or If you'd like me to screen record the problem, please let me know. Thanks!

  • Excalibur version: 1.1.4
  • Premiere Pro version: 23.6.0 (Build 65)
  • Operating System and version: Windows 10 Pro 22H2

Yes, I did have it enabled. After turning it off, the user command worked as expected. Thanks!

Is there a way to run this command without having to enable/disable num lock? I mostly use the number pad, as opposed to the row of numbers. I don't suppose there's a way to toggle numpad right inside the excalibur user command since it's not a premiere pro command... right?

arielreyes001 yes, if you will assign another additional shortcut to "Skip Forward Many Frames" inside Premiere Pro and then trigger it with Excalibur.

Sir_Ivan Do you mean replace the default shortcut [SHIFT+Right] to something else and that should work?

Sir_Ivan not to replace, because you will need it yourself, but to add another one (it is possible in Premiere to assign multiple shortcuts to one command).
If you will assign shortcut that doesn't use arrows, page up/down, home/end buttons, then it will work regardless of NumLock being enabled or not.
