Add Items from Bin (or mogrts) to Timeline

Matej Good note! I think I will give every command that adds clips to track these options (like New Item).

Not sure how doable this is and how many people need to do this, but it would be handy if there was a way to look for a clip and insert it via excalibur.

For example, let's say you use certain graphics, clips, sound effects etc, instead of searching for them in the bins you can assign them to a keyboard shortcut to lay it down instantly.

Maybe I'm just being lazy but thought it would be a neat idea!

I have it on my mind shelf for a while. I will think what I can do about it in Excalibur or maybe separately from it.

Is it possible to add a specific item from the project bin into the timeline? I know I can add new adjustment layers and black video and those types of "special items" / assets, but I want to be able to quickly add a mogrt or a some placeholder items from a bin. Will this be possible?

Use case is this: I'm building out a timeline and placing B-ROLL, STOCK, GFX placeholders on the timeline. I want to be able to quickly just drop either a mogrt or an asset from the bin down that is just full-screen color + text. That way we can lock in the "A-ROLL" / interview with a bunch of placeholders that are timed to the music properly but have no content yet. Then, on a layer above (later) I'd go in and add those elements, replacing the placeholders. But it'd be great to not have to leave the timeline / keyboard to do this. Thoughts?

Oh! Just seeing this — also just requested this today! Would love to see this implemented.

One idea I had was adding some metadata for items that can be added this way (to ease the search/index time if that was an issue at all). Could add a #ex tag to items that you'd want quickly available to Excalibur.
