When I’m rendering videos on macOS, either through Media Encoder or directly in Premiere Pro, I’ve noticed a recurring issue with time tracking. The tracker only records time while Premiere Pro is actively in focus. As soon as I click away to another application during a render, the timer stops, even though the system is still working on the project.
Right now, the only way to ensure my time is accurately tracked is to keep Premiere Pro open and avoid interacting with anything else while the render completes. This feels like a major gap in how time is being logged, since rendering is a core part of my workflow — and I’m still actively working, even if not hands-on in that moment.
Additionally, I’m curious: would it be possible to support time tracking for rendering sessions in Media Encoder as well? That would be a really helpful feature to have.
I’m not sure if this is a limitation specific to macOS, but it might be worth considering when investigating the issue.
