I just wanted to document somewhere for anyone else who dreams of Excalibur for Davinci Resolve to congregate.
I don't know how feasible it is but even if it was just a basic app for the edit tab this would be amazing. Excalibur is incredible and it is pretty much the last reason I even touch PP but with their billing instead of one-time purchase I am cancelling my sub eventually.
The technical thing about Davinci is that is has 7 different tabs all with different functionality so I don't know how it would or could work but even if v1 Davinci Excalibur was just a Unsheath "shift+space" launcher on the Edit Tab that could quick apply Effects, presets or Hotkeys to a selected clip that would be incredible.
The nearest thing we have for this is on the Fusion page when adding nodes there is a launcher that Unsheaths via hotkey (shift+space) where you can search for nodes and quickly apply them. There is also a Reactor plugin called Resolve Essentials that has a Fusion Hotkey Manager that allows you to assign node actions to a key e.g "Highlight clip -> Press 'M' and "Merge" is assigned for example. Knights could definitely make something as good as this.
Currently less fussed about speed editing in color or fairlight and the cut tab is just for laying down a rough timeline anyway
I know PP is still the industry standard but DR is a fast growing community and I think every single person who edits for a living would instantly purchase Excalibur. Black Magic could probably create some of this natively but I would rather a Knights app for it!
