Effect Presets in ExtendScript API

HI, I wanted to write the script to import effect presets. But I am confused about the workflow of importing effect presets. Whenever I want to add effect presets on the sequence I need to call the function which is the scripted version of that preset. Is that right Sir_Ivan? Is that what's happening in the background of excalibur too?

add effect
customise its props according to preset values

Right. I have understood that part but if I use this approach to make an effect preset. Is there any way that I can add that preset to the Effects library? because I want it to be available to the user

harsh588 not that I know of. Probably only manual way, by user.

Okay, so if that is the only way of adding presets how should I handle the ones which involve curves? I have no idea how to even start with the curves.

harsh588 this will be up to you. There is no optimal solution right now, in my opinion.

How have you done it in Excalibur?

harsh588 bezier keys are not properly supported by Excalibur, it is still a limitation.

Oh. I wanted to make a 'Left In & Out' preset. In this preset Position and Rotation are both changing with their velocities. So just to be sure there is no way to do that via scripting, right? And if I wanted to change these properties linearly then would that be possible?

harsh588 yes, linear keyframes will work correctly.
