My use case is that occasionally within a longer form project, there will be parts that the client will ask to be turned into stand-alone elements. Every once in a while down the line, some of those stand-alone bits needs to be updated. I usually just track down the project and update whatever is needed, but that can be a hassle if I didn't write down what week that element was from.
So I'd like to figure out the best way to highlight a segment of a timeline, either by selecting the relevant clips, or marking in to out or using Work Area Bar, and then create a new project with just that portion of the timeline in it. Ideally, I'd like to assign this to a hotkey, and the only input needed is what to title it and where to save it, and then it automatically close that new project out and return to the original project.
A current workflow I use is to create a nest of that section (and usually it's two or three I'd like to do this with in a given week) and from Project Manager save out a project and just select that nested timeline. But even that's kind of clunky, and modifies the actual main timeline.
Is something like this possible?
