Watchtower and proxies

Hello,

New Watchtower user here. It has been working great except when I go to create proxies for my 8k clips. While Adobe Media Encoder is making the files, Watchtower continuously tries to import the file fragments and gives an error loop, preventing me from editing the whole time the proxies are being created (a few hours in this case). Is there any way around this?

I'm on Premiere 2022 (AME 2022 as well) on Windows 10.

At the moment there are two workarounds:

generate proxies in the folder that is not watched by Watchtower
turn auto-sync off and use force sync button

I work on Watchtower optimisation, so it will wait for growing files to finish before importing them.

Thank you for the reply! If I may add one other suggestion to optimization, a problem I find while using Watchtower is that I'll make a new subfolder in a folder watched by Watchtower, and Watchtower will briefly add a folder named "New Folder" before the operating system renames it.

For example, I'll be working in a folder called "Broll" and I'll make a new folder for "Camera B" and Watchtower will add a "New Folder" folder then a "Camera B" folder and "New Folder" will raise the offline-files dialog in Premiere because it has been renamed.

Perhaps a solution would be to add both "\Proxies\" and "\New Folder\" to the filter list by default?

cdub you can add folder name filters in settings (it also supports regex filters!):

I wanted to add default filters for folders, but then I thought about all different languages that people use around the world and decided to put that weight on users shoulders 😅

That's an excellent point. Can we set up our own default filters that persist into new projects?

Yes, those settings are global and will persist between different projects!
