I can't think of a simple way to do it at the moment. I guess when there will be some simple coding logic inside Excalibur that will be possible (iterate over selection and apply to each second clip).
For now I can only think of creating user command, that will label each second clip with specific label.
You will need to have Selection Follows Playhead enabled and only needed track to be targeted.
It should look like this:
- Keyboard shortcut: go to next clip
- Keyboard shortcut: go to next clip
- Label: the one you need
Then you can combine that command in another user command to multiply it and again in another command to multiply it even more (this is current cumbersome workaround to repeat action, there will be loops in Excalibur in the future).
After running that command and labelling every second clip you will be able to select them with "Select label group" and if you will need other clips on the same track use Excalibur "Invert Selection" command.
