Target Tracks, 1-12, 15-18 // Lock Tracks w/visibility off?

Wow, this could be SO useful for me... could you add the ability to use a dash?? I want to target 1-12, and also 15-18 (as an example), without having to type 1,2,3,4,5,6,7... because at that point it's just faster to click. 🙂

Can you add the ability to lock all muted tracks? Or lock all tracks with visibility off? Here's why... I keep my timeline organized as follows:

V1 - V4 = talking head
V5 = LOCKED SEPARATOR LAYER
V6 - V8 = b-roll
V9 = LOCKED SEPARATOR LAYER
V10 - V12 = GFX

etc. Similar vibe on audio, dialogue, then music, then SFX, each separator by a locked layer.

I use the visibility toggle and the mute toggle to run a Keyboard Maestro script that finds all of those layers and clicks the mouse a few pixels to the left to lock/unlock all of those. Seems like this would be faster via Excalibur as I wouldn't have to wait the delay for the mouse. Is this possible via the API?

adamjrichman Brilliant! Dash is an amazing solution, I will implement it! This way you also can type 1-100 to apply target/toggle to all tracks (non-existent tracks will be skipped).

For all muted/locked tracks, I will think! For example I can use M, L, S, T letters inside text input to affect tracks by their state.

Maybe another way to think about it would be to be able to define a "lock group" via a command. So you'd cue up a command to define the group of locked tracks for the particular sequence to store as a variable of some kind somewhere that could then be called back, then you could trigger a command that's like "lg" or "ulg" for lock group or unlock group. Just thinking out loud. 🤔

So it is more about specific tracks that you lock/unlock in a sequence? The fact that you want to lock muted tracks is your workaround to create a variable attached to sequence, right?

Yes, but the specific tracks change.

I use the mute/view toggles to be able to have something that Keyboard Maestro can see in order to create offset clicks. But if I could have the ability to "assign" a handful of tracks as the lock tracks (and these would change job to job based on if they need b-roll layers or gfx layers or whatever) per sequence as the lock tracks, then unlock/lock those specific tracks with a single toggle command that would be AMAZING. Especially if I could navigate it cleanly with Excalibur or via defined shortcuts.
