Very late commands? / Performance tips?

I'm on a very powerful Mac Pro and sometimes Excalibur will take 30-60 seconds to relay a command (Paste Clip on Same Track). Any performance tips besides the old restart of Premiere? Any issues with having Premiere 2020 and 2021 open simultaneously?

Excalibur performance depends only on size of a timeline. If you have more that 1000 clips, you might experience delay, not that huge though.
Do you have other command executed before Paste Clip takes 30-60 seconds?

Anything that can be done about that? Does having that timeline in the project count against that time? Noticing similar performance issues / lag when I'm on a different timeline in the same project with that timeline open in an adjacent window in the panel.

adamjrichman not much I can do about performance, API is sequential and there is a lot of iteration going on in background. I'm trying to improve it, when I find some bad code of mine.
Though the fact it takes you 30-60 seconds to perform paste clip is not cool. Is it the same in v1.1.3? I made some optimisations there for Paste command.
If this big timeline is not active, it shouldn't affect performance.
