Hi, my files get transferred to me via a file transfer system that downloads directly into my footage folder. This makes Watchtower awesome for continually adding files that I download to that folder. However, Watchtower is trying to import the files that are not done transferring that begin with a "#". This is causing issues in premiere and also issues for the download, it keeps restarting until I close premiere. Would you be able to add an option to avoid certain clip names such as clips that start with a "#" just the same way you have an option to avoid certain folder names?

I'm willing to hear other thoughts on how to fix this issue. Thanks!

You are proposing a good solution for that problem. I have already 2-3 users more who reported about this problem and I'm going to use combined approach:

  • rewrite module that checks file growth
  • add filename filter

I'm just adding to the mix and growing file size is also issue for Render and Replace feature in Premiere if the folder is being watched by WatchTower.

WatchTower will import the file right away, disrupting and canceling any renders.

Inguru yes, this is another reason to rethink the auto sync code. Though for renders it is a bit trickier because filename filter is not applicable.
