Text Input (allow "Rename" to work in Project panel)

Text input - ability to input phrases or words. I have a naming system I use in the project window and it would be great to be able to create a user command where I could hit a shortcut to rename an asset. I titled this request as “text input” rather than “rename” because I felt like the ability to send a string of letters/words might be beneficial in other instances where a “rename” command might be limited in scope. (Currently the way to accomplish this is by setting up each letter individually with the keyboard shortcut command).

"Rename" allows you to pass string of text when you use it in User Command. What are the limitations that you want to overcome with "Text Input" suggestions?

Sir_Ivan Rename doesn't seem to rename the asset in the Project window, it only renames the clip in the timeline. I also can't pass text into other areas, like a legacy title for example. (although my main desire is to rename assets in the project window)

Jim I missed "Project window" part. Got it. Basically you would like "Rename" command to work in Project panel as well.
